As you go through the stages, the scenery becomes more complex. Platforms shrink, spikes sprout in more exact patterns, and gravity shifts; the rules of mobility undergo a radical overhaul. Due to the abrupt nature of these shifts, the player is often given limited time to adjust. A tap now signifies inversion or flight in addition to the traditional meaning of a jump.
