MIDP is an educational institution which works on improving soft skills literacy and accessibility in Malaysia through communication skills training, critical and creative thinking, as well as character building for various stakeholders. MIDP was founded in 2010, motivated by the passion to mainstream the culture and benefits of debating and public speaking in Malaysia. We were appointed as the sole Advisor to the Malaysian Debating Council and engaged by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to reform its largest national debating programme for the benefits of thousands of students across Malaysia. Our great work led to the recognition of MIDP as the leading expert on debating and public speaking by MOE in 2016. In 2018, this transformed into the passion for soft skills education, as we realised that our ultimate vision is to facilitate the advancement of human capital which can be done through various tools and programmes not limited to debating and public speaking, but also include storytelling, poetry, drama, hosting and others. In particular, MIDP is motivated by our passion to improve the accessibility of soft skills education to students outside of the Klang Valley and underserved communities to do our part in reducing the socio-economic gap in Malaysia. To support this mission, we have adopted a four-pronged cross-subsidisation business model, positioning MIDP as a social enterprise recognised by MaGIC, committed to improving soft skills literacy and accessibility in Malaysia.
