The Vice President, Strategic Policy (Strategy) is responsible in Policy Development, Government Engagement, and Special Projects. The individual in this position will lead and manage teams responsible for developing and implementing policies and initiatives that drive the company's external and internal agenda. The individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with government stakeholders, ensuring compliance with government protocols, and driving initiatives that support the company's strategic priorities. Additionally, overseeing the ideation, planning, and prototyping of special projects will be required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in any Field. Project Management certification will be an advantage.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective policy strategies; delivering complex, high-impact projects on time and within budget and building and maintaining effective relationships with government stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions.
- Experience with ideation and prototyping tools and methodologies, such as design thinking, lean startup, and rapid prototyping.
- Strong understanding of government processes, policies, and regulations, and ability to analyze and interpret complex information.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in policy development, project management and government relation or related field.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive policy strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and objectives, both internally and externally.
- Research, analyze, and develop policy positions on a wide range of issues related to the organization's mission and objectives, and advocate for these positions to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage and oversee the organization's policy development process, including identifying policy needs and gaps, drafting policy proposals, and coordinating policy review and approval.
- Develop and implement effective policy communication strategies, including white papers, reports, and other materials to support the organization's policy positions.
- Conduct regular policy audits and reviews to ensure that policies are up-to-date, effective, and aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
- Monitor and analyze policy developments and trends related to the organization's interests, and provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including policymakers, government officials, industry groups, and other organizations.
- Represent the organization in relevant policy forums, meetings, and events, and effectively communicate the organization's policy positions and recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and coordination on policy initiatives and advocacy efforts.
- Manage the policy development team, providing guidance and support to ensure that the team performs exceptionally.
- Develop and execute government engagement strategies and plans that align with the company's goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders through effective communication and engagement programs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of government engagement strategies and tactics.
- Represent the company in government affairs events, forums, and industry associations to promote thought leadership and brand recognition.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant policy and regulatory developments, and provide timely and insightful analysis to company leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Manage correspondences with government stakeholders, including drafting letters, emails, and other communications, and ensuring timely and appropriate responses to all inquiries or requests.
- Provide guidance to employees on government protocols and compliance requirements.
- Lead a team of government affairs professionals, providing mentorship, guidance and support.
- Develop and lead the ideation and prototyping of high-impact strategic initiatives and projects to support the company's goals.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the development of concepts, feasibility studies, and prototypes to test new product, service, and business model ideas that create significant value for the company.
- Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle for ideation and prototyping, including scoping, planning, execution, and post-implementation review, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Build and manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders to support project delivery and achieve business goals.
- Provide regular project status updates and reports to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop project managers and other project team members, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for professional growth.
