Senior Manager, Policy Development & Management Strategic Policy

The Senior Manager, Policy Development & Management (Strategy) is responsible for identifying, shaping, articulating and developing internal and external policies for the organisation on a broad range of topics that are of relevance to the organisation and its stakeholders. The candidate will be responsible for managing the Policy Development and Management team to ensure effective delivery of strategic objectives.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in any field. Master’s Degree or Professional Certificates in these fields are added advantages.
Minimum 10 years of working experience preferably in Policy Development, Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement.
Excellent project management skills with advanced understanding of project management methodologies, tools and techniques.
Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and oral)
Experienced in Statistical Tools, Programming and enterprise softwares (i.e. Google Workspace, Microsoft Offices).
Strong customer-oriented communication skills with the ability to communicate and articulate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong design sense and able to visualise basic to intermediate-level data into easy to understand information in slides.
Strong stakeholder management skills in engaging private sectors and government.
Appreciate technology & innovation agendas, local or global news and market insights.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of policies for the organisation and other relevant stakeholders.
Monitor and analyse the policy landscape to develop an effective understanding of new or developing policies that may be relevant and to provide opportunities to the organisation.
Communicate relevant external policy developments internally within the organisation via effective channels, providing strategic advice as requested.
Maintain awareness of and strengthen relationships with key internal experts across the organisation whose activities, research or capabilities may be used to strengthen external engagement, messaging, submissions and partnerships.
Draft policy position papers, articles and blogs for internal and external audiences.
Continuously review and update policies to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
Collaborate with other departments within the organisation to ensure alignment of policies with overall organisational goals.
Represent the organisation in discussions and negotiations with external stakeholders regarding policy matters.
Manage the Policy Development and Management team to ensure effective delivery of strategic objectives.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring all processes are running smoothly, and that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Support MRANTI’s Strategy Division overall administrative and ad-hoc matters as and when required.
