PALM FIBER SDN BHD was incorporated on 29 September 2014 mainly to venture into the research and development of the oil palm wastes or bi products. Oil palm trunks (OPTF) - which are currently burnt out prior to the re-plantations - contain large amount of dietary fibre for human and animals. Due to this original idea, the company collaborated with Food & Bio material Engineering Research Group (FOBERG), University Technology Malaysia to properly and scientifically study and research the possibility of turning the fibre of oil palm trunk (OPTF) into health supplementary products for human. After years of proper study and research, the fibre from the oil palm trunk was proven to be very useful to human since it contains insoluble fibre antioxidant, and vitamins which are beneficial to human health. In fact, Oil Palm Trunk Fibre (OPTF) is one of the best sources of fibre since it contains 70% dietary insoluble fibre and high level of the soluble fibre as well. Fibre is medically known to be vital for the digestive system and colon. Colon is responsible for storing and transporting body waste of human.Great functioning colon is essential for physical and emotional health. Furthermore, Oil Palm Trunk Fibre (OPTF) fibre contains lignin which can withstand colonic fermentation and increase the bulk of fatal matter without being affected by many hazards that other strains of fibre face during digestion. Due to the advantages and benefits of the fibre from Oil Palm Trunk Fibre (OPTF), accompanied with further research on the physical and chemical properties, proximate analysis, heavy metal analysis, mineral content analysis and toxicity analysis, the company then turned the Oil Palm Trunk Fibre (OPTF) fibre into a drink product named EGT Fiber.
